The Box: How are domestic packages shipped?

All domestic packages are discreetly packaged and shipped in a standard brown cardboard box with a shipping label. The name “Tantus” will not appear on any outer surfaces. The return label (and your credit card statement) will say "Smithblack", our pseudonym. 

The Box: How are international packages shipped? 

Although we do our best to be discreet, all International shipments must be accompanied by an itemized Commercial Invoice on the outside of the box to pass through Customs. That means "Tantus" will appear on the packing slip, as well as a list of the items you purchased. 
Note that the toy names will directly match those in your shopping cart, i.e. to the best of our abilities will not include any identifying terms such as dildo, anal, etc. The slip will also be folded so as not to outwardly display the list, only the address information.

The Contents: How are international packages shipped? 

International packages are handled in a similar manner as our domestic packages. They are shipped in a plain brown box with "SmithBlack" on the packing slips facing outwards. Because international packages must go through customs a detail of what is in your package will be listed.

How can I change my shipping address, delivery time, or other delivery information?

With recipient delivery options you can provide delivery and locating instructions, request your delivery time, including by appointment and evenings, request delivery to another address, and more.

What is your return policy? 

All products are non-returnable after point of purchase or after package arrival. This is for health code reasons since we cannot ensure the sterility of items after they have been received and opened. 
That should be a relief - you can rest assured that no product you receive has ever been in the hands of another customer!

Why doesn’t my tracking number work? 

Don’t panic! In the case of UPS SurePost, no matter what the e-mail notification states about the shipping company, the tracking number will NEVER be a USPS number. That means it is UPS SurePost.

These services use both UPS and USPS. The special service triggers the release of a USPS notification, even though the tracking number is for UPS. We apologize for the confusion. 

So what is UPS SurePost? 

UPS SurePost works by handing off packages to USPS once it nears the destination in order to be delivered to restricted addresses such as PO Boxes, APO’s, and territories (other than Puerto Rico, which can be reached by UPS Ground). If you don't NEED to use SurePost, i.e. you aren't shipping to a restricted area, DON'T use it! SurePost takes an average of 8 working days to ship - nearly two weeks. Realistic delivery ranges from 6 - 15 business days.

I used UPS SurePost and my package was ‘delivered’ but I haven’t received it! 

Remember the non-panicking? When your package changes carriers from UPS to USPS, UPS makes an educated guess about the package’s arrival time and does not continue tracking the package through USPS. This means it may take SurePost packages an additional 1-2 days to arrive after SurePost says it has been ‘Delivered’.

If I use UPS SurePost to ship to Hawaii, how long will my package take to arrive? 

Beware - SurePost to Hawaii transfers the package from UPS to USPS before it leaves the mainland. That means, your package is being sent by sea, and that it will take at least 2 full weeks - up to 3 weeks - for your package to arrive. If you are not interested in these wait times, Express Shipping is your next option. 

If I place an order, when will my package be shipped? 

Express packages are picked up by 4pm PST, regular packages are picked up by 5pm PST. Orders placed by 7:30 am PST will ship out same day. 
Orders placed after 7:30am PST will not be shipped until the next business day - even if you have express shipping. 

Where does Tantus ship? 

Tantus uses FedEx for all shipping except for international addresses and APO, territory, and PO boxes . We ship almost everywhere within the continental US and internationally.

Why can't you ship to Alabama? 

Unfortunately, there is a law in Alabama against the sale and distribution of sex toys. Although we are not located within the state, and though we believe our products are for 'health and wellness' as is required for the sale of sexual items, we choose not to take the risk at this time. There are several other online as well as brick-and-mortar stores that will ship to Alabama. We suggest locating your items through another company, or shipping your products through Tantus to a friend or contact in a neighboring state. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Can you ship to a P.O. Box? 

SurePost will deliver to a PO Box within the United States. 
We no longer offer a service for International PO Boxes due to excessive shipping issues and lost packages.


How are shipping rates determined? 

Shipping is based upon real-time rates, calculated according to the total weight of the package. 

What are my shipping options? 

All ground or Free Shipping orders will be shipped using FedEx Ground Home Delivery (5-7). Other shipping options include Fedex 2 Day (takes 1-3 business days), FedEx Standard Overnight (takes 1 business day). 

UPS Ground ships to all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico.
Orders to PO Boxes, APO's, or other US territories will be shipped with UPS SurePost.

International orders will be shipped using Express Fedex International Economy or Priority.

Can I pick up my package instead? 

Local recipients may pick up packages in person from the warehouse, but you must call at least 2 hours in advance to arrange a pick-up time. Contact Customer Support at (775) 284-6400 and support@tantusinc.com to schedule a time, as well as to be refunded for the shipping costs on your order.

Be advised that you will be required to present an ID and sign a release form for the package; this means that only the order owner may pick up their package. 

What about duties & taxes? 

Recipients will be responsible for all duties and taxes incurred upon receipt of shipment. Some countries do not put duties on Sexual Health Products.

What if my product is damaged or contains defects? 

Refunds for damaged or defected products will be accepted up to 30 days after purchase. Tantus will address defective products on a case by case basis. If you feel your product has a manufacturing defect please contact customer service immediately at (775) 284-6400 or via email at support@tantusinc.com. Please include a photo and description of your defect as evidence.

Refund Policy

The quality of Tantus’ unique formula of 100% Ultra Premium Silicone makes them bleachable, boilable, and dishwasher safe. Using these recommended cleaning methods, Tantus Toys can last a lifetime. 

However, Tantus Silicone products have a lifetime warranty and Tantus will replace any toy that has a manufacturing defect. Tantus will address defective products on a case by case basis. If you feel your product has a manufacturing defect please contact customer service immediately at (775) 284-6400 or via email at support@tantusinc.com.

All products are non-returnable after point of purchase including Gift Cards. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. We do not accept returns given the intimate nature of the product, even if the boxes are unopened. Our no-returns policy ensures that customers can trust that their toy has never been touched by another customer.

Tantus will replace any Tantus item with the same item if they have a manufacturing defect or damage, regardless of purchase point. If you feel you have reason to receive a replacement item, please send us an email at support@tantusinc.com or call Customer Support at (775) 284-6400.

Then contact your credit card company. It may take 1-3 business days before your refund is officially posted.

What payment types do you accept?

Tantus accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal. Google Wallet is also compatible.

How will the payment show up on my Credit card bill? That's private!

We use an internal name (Smithblack) for all online sales. Your billing account will show SMITHBLACK as the company name for your Tantus purchase, instead of Tantus, Inc, to protect your privacy. 

Can I use more than one promo code?

Unfortunately our webstore only allows one promo code per order at this time. That means even if you receive an additional discount code in your e-mail, you will not be able to apply it in conjunction with a different discount code. Our apologies. 

Where do I put the discount code in if I'm paying with PayPal?

What are your cleaning instructions for silicone toys?

Tantus uses 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone that is highly durable, making it easy to clean. Just be sure to remove the vibrator first!

For a quick clean, use antibacterial soap with warm to hot water, or use a toy cleaner (one without Triclosan!).
For a more extensive clean, you can boil your toy for 2 minutes, with enough water to cover. You can also spray or rinse your product in a 10% bleach solution. Do NOT boil bleach.
To clean toys with grooves, crevices, and texture, you may put your product in the dishwasher on a regular cycle on the bottom rack.

For the most thorough cleaning, follow all three steps. 
1. Wash the toy with soap & hot water to remove debris. 
2. Spray or rinse the toy with a 10% bleach solution. 
3. Run the toy through the dishwasher, bottom rack, detergent not necessary.

Our silicone is also safe up to 600 degrees. If your toy picks up an odor, bake it in the oven at 350 degrees F or 176 degrees C for 30 minutes. 

Let air dry, or clean with a lint free cloth.

My plug smells! I thought silicone was not porous, why does it smell? What can I do?

Since silicone is porous, it is possible for it to retain an odor - even after washing or bleaching - by absorbing the gases that smell. Our 100% Ultra-Premium silicone toys can easily be heated to 350 degrees for 30 minutes to bake out a smell.

Not all the toys have "Anal Safe" icon. But I thought Silicone was body safe, no matter where you put it!

Good question. All Tantus Silicone Toys are 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone - body-safe and non-toxic for use anywhere in the body. 
However, 'Anal Safe' is referring to the base of the toy. Is the base wide enough, or more wide than the insertable part of the toy, to be left unattended in the anus and not be sucked in? 

If it's not, we won't label it as Anal Safe. But you can still use it for Anal play - in a harness, with a partner, by yourself - just don't let go! 

Can you explain what kinds of Vibrating Bullets you use in toys? 

There are actually 4 styles of vibes that we use:
short/round single speed 'One Touch' Bullet Vibe
short/oval/black single speed Vibe (Vibrating Super Soft C-Ring Only)
long/pointy single speed Bullet Vibe (used in some Vibrators for a better fit)
and long/pointy 3 Speed Removable Waterproof Original Bullet Vibrator

Any Tantus vibrator that is not otherwise labeled comes with the Single Speed Bullet Vibe. Only the Panty Play, Vibrating Progressive Beads, Prostate Play, and Perfect Plug Plus come with the 3 Speed vibrator. Everything else is a single speed, despite the similar look of the bullet vibe.


Vibrating Bullets are constructed from ABS plastic.

My vibe doesn't work. What can I do?

1. Did you unscrew the top & remove the white circle of paper?

2. Did you try replacing the battery? We've listed the battery requirements for each bullet:

One Touch (Short Flat) Bullet: 3 x LR44*
Black Bullet: 2 X LR44*
Long Pointy Bullet: 1 X 1.5 V N Type
3 Speed Bullet: 1 X 1.5V N Type

*The LR44 batteries can be swapped out with any of the following: Duracell 357 or 303, or AG13, 357A, CX44, LR44W. As long as they're the same physical size (11.6 mm in diameter by 5.4 mm in thickness) and 1.5 volt to 1.55 volt, you can use them.Though the names are a bit technical, you should be able to locate something that works at your local hardware store.

Let's talk Toy Cleaner. Is Triclosan actually dangerous?

There's no evidence (yet) that triclosan can harm human health. However, studies in animals have found that it disrupts hormone levels; in that regard, triclosan joins other compounds like bisphenol A , phthalates and some pesticides like DDT . There has not yet been any research that can definitively link triclosan to birth defects, brain damage or any of the harmful effects of these other hormone disruptors, but more studies are needed to determine just how safe it is. We are all about having a healthy sexual experience so we don't want you putting something that could be potentially harmful to you onto your toy.

What are your cleaning instructions for harnesses?

To clean leather products use a watered down solution of white vinegar or castile soap on a clean, lint free cloth and wipe dry.

What type of lube is safe to use with Tantus toys?

For best results, use water-based or oil-based lubes with your Tantus toy. Keep in mind that oil-based lubes are not compatible with latex, and may be problematic if you are using safer sex practices. If you choose to use condoms with your Tantus toy, please be aware that many condoms are lubricated with silicone lube, which may cause damage to your toy. Unlubricated condoms used in conjunction with water-based lubes will help keep you safer, while also keeping your toy free of damage.

But I love silicone lube!

If you're set on using silicone lubes, we suggest Pjur silicone, or Sliquid Hybrid varieties as these have been tested and approved with Tantus Silicone toys. (Silicone lubes we've tested: Swiss Navy, Uber, Sliquid Silicone, ID, Gun Oil/Pink)

We haven't tested every brand. If you're uncertain, try rubbing a dot of the lube on the base of the toy where you won't notice it. Let it sit for an hour or more, then wipe it off. If it leaves a gooey, tacky residue, DON'T USE THAT LUBE with your Silicone toys, as the silicone has bonded and is irremovable. Read more about Lube bonding here.

*From experience, we've found that Pjur may leave a slight film on a toy after washing. Let the toy completely air dry - in the sun, if you live in a humid climate - and once dry the film will wipe off easily. This film is NOT the lube bonding to the toy. 

Is it just me, or do Tantus toys collect dust & lint like crazy?

Unfortunately, one of the properties of silicone is that items made of this material attract lint and dust easily. A quick rinse before use is recommended.
We also recommend that you store your toys in lint-free containers while not in use: silk or satin bags, plastic organizer bins or shoe boxes, plastic ziploc bags, or metal containers are good options.

My Grab Bag arrived in a bag! Is it a fake toy? Help! 

Grab Bags are a great way for us to reduce our waste. Instead of discarding the silicone in between color changes for our standard toys, we use the silicone to make the same high quality Tantus Toys in mixed and unpredictable colors. We choose to package these in simple silver, resealable bags, in order to reduce packaging and give the customer a reusable bag for the new toys. 
Note, Tantus is a small, family owned company of around 20 employees - total. Our Quality Control inspects and bags every toy by hand. If your Grab Bag is open, it's certainly not our standard - but without the completely mechanical production or hermetically sealed packaging, it is possible. 
Please contact us to let us know if you are dissatisfied with the state of your toy, but also realize that as a 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone toy, your item only needs a simple run through the dishwasher to be in tip-top shape again. Tantus Toys are made to last a lifetime. 

What's in a Silicone Tantus Toy?

Without being repetitive - guaranteed, 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone. The explicit unique blend is our trade secret, but it's high quality, Platinum cured, medical grade, 100% legitimate.

What about the colors? Aren't there fillers?

Tantus Silicone is colored using encapsulated pigments – no ‘fillers’. These pigments are FDA approved, food-grade pigments that do not compromise the quality or structure of our silicone.
Only our Pearl White and Purple Haze colors use an additional inorganic glitter that does not affect the quality, durability, or safety of the silicone.

Is every Tantus silicone toy exactly the same? I want perfection!

Tantus silicone toys are handmade, hand poured, and artistic in nature. Small imperfections and variation in color, texture, density, and size up to 10% are inherent in the product and are not considered defects. 

Why has the bottom of my O2 Dual Density Toy become convex over time?

Our Dual Density O2 toys are made with two layers of silicone in different densities: 5 shore (squishy) on the outside, 40 shore (more dense) on the inside. Over time as the silicone molecules settle, the softer silicone shrinks slightly and pulls on the unyielding dense core, creating a slightly convex base.

Are Tantus products made in the U.S.A?

All items produced with open-faced molds (anything with a flat base, including Gags) are manufactured solely in the United States, hand-poured right here at our warehouse in Sparks, Nevada. Some products are not manufactured in-house due to manufacturing constraints, but all silicone materials are also purchased only through U.S. suppliers and third-party inspected for quality assurance.

Are the manufacturers or suppliers of these items reliable?

Tantus has a strict policy of selecting and working with reputable and responsible suppliers that strive to consistently manufacture materials, components and products worthy of the Tantus brand name, in addition to being in total compliance with applicable environmental and product composition standards.

All Tantus products are designed and engineered in the USA. Tantus items manufactured in warehouses outside of our main facility are subjected not only to primary quality testing; but also stringent third party testing to ensure products are free of organotin compounds, and phthalates.
